In order to explain what this is I will explain a little of the landscape, then share the resources I’m developing 😊

Landscape

In order to internalise a chapter you need two things:

1. Some kind of storage method
2. Some kind of review schedule

There are a huge number of ways to do both of these things, and each method will have pros and cons for different people.

Storing methods:

• Rote memory: Your brain can store things naturally by repetition, especially when spoken aloud
• Memory palace: Attach content to locations in a journey
• Kinesthetic memory: Add physical movements
• Mnemonic techniques: e.g. major sytem, peg lists
• Visual memory: Artwork, drawing, or even…
• Chapter maps: This is the one I’ve invented and am sharing here in case others find it useful

Review methods:

• Make yourself a schedule e.g. go over chapters on decreasing regularity
• When you “walk past” the text if it’s anchored to a location you visit or travel through
• Digital spaced repetition e.g. BibleMemory app

The chapter map method that this page exaplains works with any review method.

Right so here’s the idea…

Drawing explanation:  - Being able to join the boxes is very helpful e.g. ai house  - You can use consistent symbols for words (e.g. light bulb as know/knowledge) If there isn’t an obvious symbol you want to you, can use a rhyme to create your own link

Custom divisions

Yo this is super helpful for long term Whatever storage method I would use I would do this, but it’s especially important for chapter map or it kind of breaks down. Story of how I have got better at it and I still can immediately tell if it’s a chapter I didn’t do it for. These examples I’m sharing for you are very good.

BibleMemory chain mail chapters

This next section is useful if you want to:

• Use the BibleMemory app for your review

My one rule is no rushing to meet reviews - having a pile up of reviews is fine even if the app seems to be rebuking you with red colours. Going ahead with reviews is also fine. Just enjoy it, slow down, and be present.
